The Warrior

Even as the grasses of the earth compete, stalk verses stalk, for the earth and its resources; for water, air, sunlight, survival and the right to reproduce; so does every living thing, each in its own way, compete with other members of its own species.

Mankind is not exempt from this struggle. While many species limit their fighting to a seasonal ritual, with irregular skirmishes throughout the year, for mankind it has (unfortunately) become the dominant paradigm in almost every arena of life; from the classroom to the boardroom to politics to interpersonal relations.

We use every weapon at our disposal and we have learned that anything can be used as a weapon; the latest technology in warfare; the power of the media in business; psychology in the courtroom; greed in the boardroom; fear (and hope) in politics; emotional manipulation in the home, threats and deception everywhere, and anything in a street fight (all just as examples - almost any tactic can be used in almost any situation). Even within and between the most morally sound entities; church, charitable and social justice organizations, there is competition; there are successes, and there are failures. For mankind, competition has become a constant.

The fact that we have immense intellectual capacity, and compete more with our minds than our bodies only makes the struggle more sophisticated, and often more insidious. The subconscious mind will engage in the struggle regardless of the forum chosen by the conscious mind, with or without its awareness or consent, even in the noblest of efforts. And the tactics, whether, in psychological warfare or a physical fight, are often the same.

Many cannot accept this simple fact, or choose to believe that the future of the earth and mankind are dependent upon cooperation, and that mankind can choose cooperation over conflict. The truest cooperation must build upon acknowledged differences; it can not pretend to ignore them; and differences are, of course, always in competition. One idea, one proposal, one product, one man, one woman, one school of thought, one nation; one has qualities in abundance which another lacks; one has strengths which can be relied upon and shared; another has weaknesses which must be compensated for, or nourished. Cooperation may be the most desirable strategy in a struggle, any struggle; but it is still a strategy.

This can be viewed from a Darwinian perspective. The survival of the fittest may sound brutal; but that concept applies just as well to the best ideas, which survive, not because they are the most brutal, but because they are the best. And the best ideas, without exception, are always the truest.

So the question then becomes this; not how to avoid conflict, but how to find truth, and once truth has been found, how to express it as purely as possible. Then, when there is conflict, we can be confident that our position is as pure as it can be; that what we have to offer is true - as true as we can make it; and that if we fail, we will know that we have fallen to something better, something truer, be it a man or an idea. But when we win, we will know that we have something of value to offer the world; truth.

May the best ideas prevail; and may the best man win.

Either one believes that good will always overcome evil, or one does not; and that truth is better than lies, or it is not; and that what is true is good and that what is good, must be true.

The Schools of The Sequitoria are paths to truth. The Principles of Organic Expression are the form and method for the expression of truth. The Warrior must learn, through training, how to express the truth, his truth. Then those lessons can be applied to every other aspect of life.

How does The Warrior do that? What is his method? How should he prepare himself? How does he train? And what are the rules of engagement?

The answer is here.
